Leaked 21GB of Data! Well-known Security Company was Hacked
An anonymous hacker has broken into Swiss security company Acronyis and stolen a large amount of sensitive data. Ironically, on its web site, acronyis has been touting its ability to“Proactively protect data, systems, and applications by preventing cyber attacks in the first place.”
According to publicly disclosed information on the web, network security company ACRONYIS offers a comprehensive solution that integrates backup, recovery, and the next generation of ai-based anti-malware and protection management, cover the five critical phases of network security: prevention, detection, response, recovery, and forensics.
The hackers were unusually aggressive
On March 9, Falcon Feedsio suddenly broke on Twitter that the security company Acronyis had been hit by a network attack, including a certificate file, command log, system configuration, and file system archive. A large amount of data (over 21GB) was stolen, including Python scripts for the DB database, backup configuration content, and screen shots of the backup operation.
In addition, FalconFeedsio notes that cybercriminals have aggressively claimed on hacker forums that”I leaked a cyber security company called Acronyis with a smiley emoji attached.
